Phrasal Verbs Doubts: Phrasalstein

Are you afraid of phrasal verbs or do you dare to face them up? Try this Cambridge University Press app to solve your doubts, Phrasalstein. You can use the language English or Spanish at the right top of the page.

For example you know the meaning of go and the preposition off separatedly but what is the meaning of the verb go off? here you can see the meaning from the context:
'The bomb wet off at noon'

'Exploit' is not the only meaning, whe some food is in bad condition, when you split up with some friend....

At the beginning you can choose to have a look on the phrasal verbs meaning or to start with the exercises, each definition is shown with some kind of funny sketches in which Dr Phrasalstein appears with some witches, monsters...

This app is terrific!

Big City Small World

Big City Small World is an audio soap opera. Soap opera is a term used to describe a fictional radio or television programme that often follows the lives of a group of people.
The storyline for the soap often spans several episodes and each show ends with a promise that the storyline will be continued in the next episode.

The characters are purely fictional. However, you will be able to interact directly with the characters through the Learn English website. Each of the characters has a profile page and you will be able to leave messages for them. Behind each character is a real person, who will respond to you.

For each episode there will be some comprehension questions, vocabulary and grammar exercises, and of course a complete transcript of the episode.

"English Monster" is a funny app for Spanish learners of English to correct their most common mistakes.
And how does Cambridge know which mistakes learners make? The answer is their “Cambridge English Corpus” a database where they compile all mistakes from their official exams.
English Monster consists on a series of exercises in which two monsters will show you two possible answers about:
  • Spelling
  • False Friends
  • Writing correctly
  • Verb tenses
